CWI made a submission to the National Strategic Framework for Health Workforce Planning, highlighting that work to address health inequalities has been underpinned by community work and community work organisations for many years and noting that community work has been a critical element in addressing the significant health inequalities faced by marginalised groups such as Travellers, migrants, asylum seekers, older people, members of the LGBTI+ community and others. We called for professional community work to be named as one of the professional disciplines listed in the Framework and for planning for the development and expansion of the discipline where appropriate in all areas of the country.
