The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform held a public consultation process on draft guidelines, Principles/Guidance for Public Consultation, which aim to foster greater citizen consultation and involvement in policy and service development to strengthen democracy and improve public services. When finalised these will replace the existing Government consultation guidelines Reaching Out: Guidelines on Consultation for Public Sector Bodies.
