The CWC has received an invitation to make a submission on a draft National Framework Policy for Local and Community Development (see text of invitation from the Department of Environment, Community & Local Government below).

We will be organizing opportunities for CWC members to contribute to the CWC submission and will issue details of this next week.

Invitation

A public consultation process for a national framework policy for local and community development (draft attached) was commenced today by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (sic).  Advertisements have been placed in national newspapers and a copy of the draft framework policy is also available on the Department’s website at Draft framework policy (pdf, kb).  The public consultation process will close at 5pm on Friday 10 April, 2015.

As a key stakeholder we now invite your organisation to make a written submission setting out your views and comments on the draft policy to assist completion of the policy.  Submissions should be sent to :

The closing date for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Friday 10 April, 2015.

In the interests of transparency, all submissions received (including the name of the person making the submission but not their contact details) will be made available online on the Department’s website (all submissions received) and will be subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. The onus is on persons making submissions not to include material of a private nature in the body of their submission.
